Preparation Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove ham from packaging and place flat side down in a 2-inch deep baking pan, fat side up. Add package drippings and 1/2 cup water in the pan and cover tightly with aluminum foil to help retain moisture. Place pan in oven and bake for 15 minutes per pound, or until reaches desired eating temperature. Remove ham from oven. Let stand loosely covered with aluminum foil for about 10 minutes before slicing to serve.

30 minutes before baking is complete, remove aluminum foil and brush 1/4 cup of glaze onto top and sides of ham. Continue baking uncovered for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove ham again and brush with another 1/4 cup of glaze. Any remaining glaze can be used if desired, or served on the side as a dipping sauce. Return ham to oven and bake uncovered for the final 15 minutes.

Place warm ham flat side down on carving board or platter. Using a meat fork in one ham (to steady the ham), begin carving the ham with the other hand across the grain into 1/4″ thick slices.

  1. Sandy

This was honestly the best ham I ever had. Was quick enough to make after work and was the most lean, tasty ham ever. Definitely will buy this again.

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

We’re glad you enjoyed the cinnamon glazed goodness, Sandy! Frick’s is happy to put in the work gently curing and slowly smoking our meats so that you can enjoy an easy, yet hands down delicious meal.

  2. kelly j

we bought one today for dinner…it was delicious, and enough for an army…didnt take to long to heat up either….i will be buying another one soon.

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

Great to hear, Kelly! Our carvers may not look it, but as you’ve noticed, one carver can go a long way. Well, sort of. Let’s just say they can feed a good number of people, but they don’t last long when everyone returns for second helpings.

  3. mary sherwood

This is the second Frick carver ham i’ve served to large family gatherings and everyone raved about it! The “best”ham they ever tasted, and ‘where did you get that Ham” were the two comments I kept hearing. My local supermarket (Hannaford)carries these occasionally, I’m going to buy it whenever I see it!!!

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

Sounds like common conversation around one of our cinnamon carvers. We’re so glad you and your family enjoyed it!

  4. Dana

I’m so excited to serve this ham, I’m just curious about the nutritional info. I’m a dedicated weight watcher so I’m trying to figure out why adding the glaze adds no calories or sugars to the nutrition stats. Any advice?

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

      That’s a good question, Dana.

Adding the glaze displaces the ham with the same weight per serving of glaze, thus making some small changes to the nutritionals, but none to the sugars or the calories.

  5. Justin

So delicious, best ham I’ve had and I’m not a fan of ham usually. How long can I keep it in the fridge after cooked?

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

Glad our cinnamon carver won you over!

We recommend eating the ham within five days after the package has been opened. If it’s day five and you still haven’t eaten it all, you can extend the life of leftovers by freezing them.

  6. Peter

Incredible!!…. loved it without doing anything right out of the packaging…. It was impossible not to cut off a slice (okay, several) and ‘give it a try’…. It is a fantastic ham ‘as is’ cold….. For warming, I followed the recommended timelines, yet I substituted a rich California Red along with apple cider for liquid…and poured Grade B Maple Syrup over the ham….grated mixed peppercorns, granulated maple sugar mixed with a dash of habanero ….and a sprinkling of “Teeny Tiny Spice Co.’s Shepherd Mix”…… covered and let it do its thing for 45 minutes….. the glaze is a nice balance of sweet and tangy….. I added another swash of Maple Syrup under the glaze and then generously splashed Gosling’s dark rum over all before returning to the oven for each glazing session…..
Allowed the carver to rest, covered…. and then discovered an incredible culinary experience.
    You have another loyal customer….

Just when we think a ham can’t get any better, you tell us of this delectable concoction. Mmmmm…you’re making us hungry!

II grew up the Son of a butcher. My Dad had a meat market, we made and smoked our own hams, polish sausage smoked and fresh as well as Italian . My grandfather also had a butcher shop/store and he and my dad also owned a slaughter house. My experience with meat products started at a early age. To this day my son’s and I still will butcher our own home grown pork and venison and make and smoke our own sausages. Coming across this Frick’s ham at Aldie’s it was a Dream come True. This was a ham just like my grandfather use to make, slow hardwood smoked dry cured. We had it for our Easter Dinner and I asked all to rate it from 1-10 for taste, texture, & flavor.. It was a unanimous decision 10 out of 10 it just does not get any better… Thank You Frick’s Family from my Family for keeping the tradition alive. And a job Well Done..

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

From one meat making family to another: there’s nothing like sharing the passion for meat with the next generation. We’re glad we could provide you and your family with traditional, delicious flavor and help bring back great memories.

  8. Susan Yorka

Decided to try the Frick’s Carver ham for Easter – FANTASTIC! The best part was the taste, also NO fat or waste, and very easy to carve. I just told my husband we have to get another one even though we still has some left from Easter dinner.

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

We’re glad you enjoyed our carver ham! And you know what they say, the only thing better than ham leftovers is more ham.

  9. Mike Velardi

I picked up a CARVER HAM at ALDI and served it at Easter. I got some looks because of it’s unusual shape but it was devoured and enjoyed thoroughly by all. I will definitely serve this again.

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

Poor carvers, always getting judged by their outward appearance. It’s great that you were able to look past that to find the goodness within. Now that’s the story ending we like to hear!

  10. James Hess

Wow the best ham ever I bought two more hope we see it in the stores again soon

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

Glad you enjoyed it! Our cinnamon carver is a holiday item, so it makes its way to stores around Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  11. Karen Weaver

To be honest, I have NEVER been excited about ham. They pretty much all taste the same which is really not so good. Usually, something loaded with salt and water with not much else.

Well, folks, I am ELATED to report that the second coming of hams has arrived!! I almost fell out of my chair, it was so good. You MUST run to the store and buy one of the boneless, glazed hams. After eating it, you will be angry with yourself for thinking any other ham was good.

    No kidding!

Message to those of you who make them – thank you ever so much for having the commitment to produce something so fantastic. I can tell you care about making something that is quality. Thank you!

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

Thank you very much, Karen! We’re happy to make ham that’s worth getting excited about! You’re right, quality is priority around here – it’s even in the name.

Our cinnamon carver is a holiday only item, so it only appears in stores around Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, but we hope you’ll find it’s worth the wait.

  12. VeraqT

I just called the store I shop at, to make sure they have this ham for Thanksgiving & Christmas.
So delicious. I never tasted any other ham like this. Fricks is the best. No.1 ham company; in the U.S.

  13. R.K. O’Nale

I love the carver ham but would like to have a little more smoked flavor. Would smoking on a grill with wood at a low temp. work without drying it out ?

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

R.K. – Unfortunately we are not masters of the home smoker. Our smoke masters work with full smoke houses of hams with very precise temperature and humidity controls. I would caution you to be careful with low temperatures and long times as this makes the perfect environment for bacteria to grow. If you are going to give it a try take a quick look at the attached link. It gives some good info on the challenges of cold smoking.

  14. Bridget

I started getting Fricks Carvery Ham in Hannafords about 3 years ago. My family loved it. Unfortunately it seems to be a seasonal item. So last Christmas, the couple of times I had a little extra in my wallet, I picked up a couple of extra to throw in freezer. I have done it again this year. I can’t eat ham, due to stomach problems but everyone else in my family can. They ABSOLUTELY LOVE this ham. No waste either on it!

  15. Diana

We visited our daughter during Christmas and she served this Cinnamon Carver Ham. It was the best ham we have ever had! I wish I could find it in our local grocers. We live in the St. Louis Metro area. I haven’t had any success.

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

Glad you liked it! In the St. Louis area, you might be able to find our cinnamon carver hams at various Schnucks stores, but only around Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s a holiday item for the retailer.

  16. Karen A Anstett

This is the best ham we have ever had. Had it for Easter and my grandson requested it for Christmas. No waste and the flavor is unbelievable! He loved it so much I am looking to get another one. Thank you!
