Preparation Instructions

Warming

Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove ham from packaging and place flat side down in a 2-inch deep baking pan, fat side up. Add package drippings and 1/2 cup water in the pan and cover tightly with aluminum foil to help retain moisture. Place pan in oven and bake for 15 minutes per pound, or until reaches desired eating temperature. Remove ham from oven. Let stand loosely covered with aluminum foil for about 10 minutes before slicing to serve.

Glazing

30 minutes before baking is complete, remove aluminum foil and brush 1/4 cup of glaze onto top and sides of ham. Continue baking uncovered for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove ham again and brush with another 1/4 cup of glaze. Any remaining glaze can be used if desired, or served on the side as a dipping sauce. Return ham to oven and bake uncovered for the final 15 minutes.

Carving

Place warm ham flat side down on carving board or platter. Using a meat fork in one ham (to steady the ham), begin carving the ham with the other hand across the grain into 1/4″ thick slices.

I just served a Frick’s Carver Ham for Easter dinner and it is easily the best ham we have ever eaten and we love ham. It is tender, juicy, full of flavor and has less sodium than other hams. I followed the cooking directions on the package and made a glaze with brown sugar, orange-pineapple juice, honey and cinnamon to go with it. So delicious. It is our first time eating a carver ham; we’d always done spiral hams but this was SO MUCH better. It is Frick’s Carver Ham from now on for us!

I’m extremely picky about ham. After being disappointed several years in a row with our Easter ham we tried Frick’s Carver. Wow! Amazing! The texture was fantastic not the rubbery texture you sometimes get with grocery store hams. The smoke was perfect, not to over powering but just great flavor. The absolute biggest surprise it was NOT salty at all! Great ham that needs no dressing up to serve to company, cook according to the package you will not be disappointed.

My wife served up a carver ham for last night’s dinner. What a treat! The flavor stands out as a true ham flavor. No wonder the online order products are sold out!

Bought this by chance at Walmart for Thanksgiving. Tasted great. Now if only I could get it again. Plus it had less sodium than most hams and you could taste the difference. Less salt is always better. Would definitely recommend.
