    I love this product. I like everyone else usually make ham salad with it however I did make a Hawaiian pizza one time with it on top of the pizza I pinched off chunks of the ham and put it on top of the pizza with pineapple before i baked it and it was delicious

    I have been wanting Ham Loaf. This is the best! I dont think Cincinnati know about ham Loaf, I never see it any where, But I did find this tube of ham I was super excited! Our H.L. turned out just like grandma from back in the day, thank you!

    I just purchased this ground ham today for the first time. What is the shelf life of the product once opened, assuming it is properly wrapped and refrigerated? Also, is it possible to wrap and freeze portions? I am probably the only one in my household that will be enjoying it. Thanks.

      Hi Jan,

      After you open up a pack of our ham, ground or otherwise, you should use it within 5 days. It is possible to wrap leftover portion ham tightly in tin foil and freeze it, but it won’t keep well that way and will suffer in quality. Regardless of opening the package or not, we don’t recommend freezing for long periods of time because freezing causes ham to become drier, but do encourage anyone to freeze our unopened ham if they know they won’t eat it by the USE/FRZ by date.     I live in Greenville, SC and I’m trying to make Ham Balls using my mother’s recipe which calls for ground ham. I can’t find it locally. Do you have a retailer close to me?

    • Frick’s Quality Meats

      Publix is the only retailer in the Greenville area that might have our ground ham, though sadly it is unlikely. Publix will sometimes make special orders of our ground ham, but not in large quantities. Perhaps the meat department manager at your local Publix can request some from their warehouse and said warehouse will order it.

      To guarantee you are able to get our ground ham and to receive it sooner, you might want to purchase it from us online and have it shipped directly to you.

    I don’t know what you do to get this ham so low cal and low fat, but I like it! I recently started using this as a lower fat/calorie alternative to breakfast sausage. Slice it into patties, season with a pinch of crushed red pepper and dried sage, and fry it up. It’s taken my breakfast from over 400 cals to around 225, reduced overall fats, and increased protein.

    I’ll be looking at other ways to incorporate this into my daily routine.

    We were long time customers of Fanestil’s Meats (Emporia, KS) chopped ham. However, they’ve stopped making it. I found your chopped ham and we tried it in our ham salad recipe and in a couple of other recipes….WOW! It’s absolutely delicious. I didn’t think my family would even try it but they did and it’s all we’ve been talking about for the past several days. It’s a wonderfully consistent texture, color and taste! You’ve won us over and we’ll be looking for more of your products to try. I can’t wait to try it out, as some of the other reviewers have noted, on pizza, as substitute for sausage and burgers.     My Mother-in-Law made ham loaf for Easter dinner using your ground ham. I never in my life enjoyed Ham Loaf before it was HEAVENLY. She has since passed and every time I use her recipe I think of her and relive that Easter. (I finished all the left overs that Easter) I also would like to compliment you on your Ham Steaks. 10Xs better than Smith—– Brand. Less saltier taste. GREAT flavor.
