Love this ham. Was accidentally left out about 5 hours. Can it still be eaten?

We’re glad to hear you enjoy our ham! Sadly, we have to recommend you throw away the ham that was left out of the refrigerator. As a general rule, refrigerated goods should not be left outside of the fridge for more than 2 hours, but the less time spent at temperatures between 40°F – 140°F (the food danger zone), the better. Because the ham was out of the fridge for more than two hours, we can’t guarantee it’s still safe to eat, even if it looks and smells fine.

OMG what can I say ..I always buy the store brand spiral ham that I was just sick of it doesn’t even taste like ham anymore. My store had fricks so I thought I’m going to try this! Well let me tell you the ham is amazing ,it has texture ,taste, and it’s not all fat like some I have bought. I am sold on this ham and I will never buy another brand of ham. Thank you fricks for having a product that is worth every penny you spend and it is top of the line quality ..Thank you

This ham is very good. I was buying Boars Head at the deli and I tried Fricks. We enjoy it at breakfast and with Rye bread and Swiss cheese. At Food Lion the Fricks 16 oz Sliced is $5.99 Great price for the excellent quality.

I love this s ham but I am unable to consume the entire package before the 5 days are up. I rinsed the ham off (though it was not slimmy) then I microwaved for a few minutes. Ham tasted fine. I hope it was ok to consume. Please advise.

That’s a great question and one we get often. Unfortunately, once the meat is exposed to air and the home kitchen environment, the risk of spoilage due to germs and rancidity increases and occurs much more quickly. Some spoilage cannot be detected by sight or smell, and because we simply don’t know what spoilage is present in individual packages after opening, we must play it safe and cannot recommend keeping our meat – or any other deli meat – for more than a week after the initial vacuum seal has been broken.
