The ham taste just fine for sandwiches. After 4 or 5 days I freeze whatever’s left and use it at a later time to season a pot of beans. My only question is it seems like I can remember the ham being sliced but the last two times I purchased the ham the package said sliced but contained a solid piece of ham.

However, we would like to learn more about these unsliced occasions – if you happen to have a photo of the package or further information on the expiration date and store of purchase, could you send it to us at hello@frickmeats.com? When you mention a “solid piece of ham,” it sounds like you’re describing our ham steak. We make 8oz boneless ham steaks that are packaged in a similar black film to our shingle sliced ham, and can see how the products could be confused on shelf if grabbed quickly and/or picked by a third-party shopper to fulfill an online grocery order. But our ham steaks should not be labeled as “sliced ham,” so if there’s been poor slicing or mispackaging on our end, we certainly want to know about it and address it immediately.

I discovered Frick’s sliced ham by accident when I needed a smaller portion than the sliced ham I used to buy for sandwiches. Now, I won’t buy anything except Frick’s for our sandwiches. It tastes delicious, is sliced just the right thickness, and doesn’t have a lot of fat in it that I need to cut out. I like the packaging, which gives you a good view of the ham slices before you buy it. The package is easy to open and to reseal. With just 2 of us, we sometimes have a hard time eating up a whole package before the recommended time to keep after opening, so I sort of wish it would come in smaller packages. This is the best ham for sandwiches I’ve ever tried. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Frick’s ham.

We’re glad to hear you enjoy our ham! Sadly, we have to recommend you throw away the ham that was left out of the refrigerator. As a general rule, refrigerated goods should not be left outside of the fridge for more than 2 hours, but the less time spent at temperatures between 40°F – 140°F (the food danger zone), the better. Because the ham was out of the fridge for more than two hours, we can’t guarantee it’s still safe to eat, even if it looks and smells fine.
