  1. PT

Well, because the smoked wing package states they are “partially cooked” and to “cook thoroughly,” instead of removing just a couple of wings for myself to eat on Thanksgiving, I have had the wings cooking on top of the stove, (I have no oven), on a cast iron pan with a lid for an hour. What are the chances, I wonder, that they will be edible, (and I do not own a meat thermometer to test for 165″ internal tempature, which is very high, and that the remaining wings will not dry out in the refrigerator.

When a meat is “smoked,” I presume “fully cooked.” I did not expect otherwise with the Frick’s smoked turkey wings. I’m not a novice. It’s one thing to be cautious what with overreaching FDA requirments, but to so soundly state the absolute necessity fo cook to an internal temperature of 165 F, is simply going too far.

Hi PT, we have to say, we’re a bit confused by your review. Our turkey wings are fully cooked (as stated on the front and back of the package) and ready-to-eat. Our turkey wing packaging does not say “partially cooked” or “cook thoroughly.” Because the product is fully cooked, it is safe to eat cold right out of the package, and there is not a set temperature you have to reach for food safety if you’d like to serve them warm. Are you sure it was our wings you had and not another brand?

I usually purchase the turkey wings and they are five star you really don’t need much seasoning when you’re cooking with these wings with collard greens. I normally purchase some from Walmart and Henrietta New York but they said they’re not carrying them anymore I’ll let you know where can I purchase them locally here in Rochester New York

I fell in love with these wings for their flavor! But, I used to source them from Walmart and they no longer carry them. I thought I’d go directly to the source….but you don’t have them anymore either, something up with turkey products??

Due to high demand and other complications caused by COVID-19, we have been unable to keep up on supply of our turkey products, and had to temporarily remove ourselves from several Walmart distribution centers. We aren’t sure when we will be able to supply the affected stores again, but hope to at least have some online store stock by early February.

I have been using Frick’s Smoked Turkey Wings for a number of years. I use them to flavor pinto beans. The result is a flavorful, delicious pot of beans just right for Corn Bread or Rice. One wing per 4 cups of dry beans is all the meat that is needed! (Of course, other ingredients are used i.e. butter, vinegar, salt, sugar, onions, and garlic, along with the wings) I do get lots of compliments on my beans! So, THANK YOU for a fine product! Note: Pork is not consumed in this household for religious reasons.
